5-0 out of 5 stars 100 AND HEALTHY
BEST BOOK I HAVE READ ON THE SUBJECT OF ANTI AGING
5-0 out of 5 stars Safe Natural Solutions Without Drugs
Fabulous information about cutting edge nutritional support, yet from centuries old sources straight from the earth!Everyone needs to read this to know how to provide natural whole food nutrition that none of us gets from our "foods".Much American food isn't even real food --- on what trees do "cheetos" grow?! And why are many labels stating "enriched", or "added vitamins" -- because they refined and processed the essential nutritents out of the food.....so they had to add something back.....foolish and deadly!Let's learn from and follow Shaffer Fox's research. His website and products are the purist manifestation of that research -- great book and great products! Do yourself and your loved ones a favor - read this book!

5-0 out of 5 stars This is one very good book!
Most health books have made me suffer through chapters of mush in order to learn what could have been written in a magazine article. This book was different. This book's 300+ pages is a cornucopia of facts about how our bodies work and how they can last longer.A few pages in Chapter three slowed me down somewhat, but otherwise the book is concise and it provided a lot of new knowledge.I now know more about the republic of Georgia, cholesterol, cells, cancer, diabetes, fat people, intestines, diabetes, free radicals, inflammation, how we age, and how brains get screwed up than anyone else on the block. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A Penetrating Study of Secession in Georgia
The intricacies of Southern political and social thought are very well reflected in Michael P. Johnson's study of secession in Georgia. Johnson rejects the traditional explanations of Georgian secession: that Georgians misinterpreted the threat posed by Lincoln's election and fell victim to Fire-eater rhetoric or that the electorate, allowed a new role in determining state policy in the wake of the collapse of political parties in 1860, led Georgia out of the Union in a wave of passion. He follows up on Eugene Genovese's view that slavery's ascension to a priority greater than that of the Union's preservation led to secession, and that the movement was led by the planter elite. Working on the basis of contemporary explanations of the crisis, Johnson argues that secession was a rational decision made by state leaders. Significantly, though, he identifies the threat behind secession as being not the external threat posed by abolitionism so much as the internal threat within Georgian society itself. He stresses the fact that deep divisions manifested themselves in the debates over secession, in Georgia and across the South. The planter elite, he suggests, saw the crisis as a test of their hegemony in the state; they supposedly worried that their fellow slaveholders would be won over by Republican rhetoric eventually, especially if it manifested itself in the form of patronage enticements. Because slaveholders were unsure as to the long-term commitment to slavery by members of their own circle, they seceded in order to forestall the penetration of the Republican party into Georgia. According to Johnson, there was no ideological consensus behind the state's secession.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Read for Southerners or Civil War fans.
This is a wonderful Civil War book told through the eyes of William Daniel Dixon of Savannah, Georgia. It is a fascinating and detailed account of his journey from the coastal battles of the early war to the battle of Atlanta. If you are from the southeastern part of Georgia you will find it especially interesting to read about the battles and encampments around the Savannah area.Dixon recounts his personal exploits as well as his unit's: the Republican Blues.Compared to the fast travel and communications of today it is great to read about a time of letters, trains, telegraphs, long foot marches, and horse back jouneys.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Blues in Gray
The Blues in Gray is a very readable account of the Republican Blues service in coastal Georgia with exciting battles taking place on the Ogeechee River at Fort McAllister south of Savannah, Georgia.William Daniel Dixon was 23 when he began his private journal which he kept throughout his Confederate Service. He was a native of Savannah and lived his entire life there. The editor, Roger Durham, has done an excellent job making Dixon's voice heard. I am Dixon's great granddaugher and am delighted that this primary material is available to readers and scholars. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Lots of information, but not entirely trustable
In case you are not already familiar with Abkhazia, let me give a very brief summary of its current situation. Abkhazia (or Abkhazeti to Georgians, or Apsny to its current government) is a small region in northwest Georgia, which was an autonomous republic (meaning only that the titular nationality had its culture promoted and benefited from a Soviet form of affirmative action) within Georgia during Soviet times. After Georgia broke away from the Soviet Union, Abkhazia managed (with some Russian help) to break away from Georgia following a war in 1992-1993 that was accompanied by ethnic cleansing and the flight of most of the ethnic Georgians in the region (200,000-250,000, or almost half of Abkhazia's 1989 population). Abkhazia has managed to maintain de facto independence ever since, though it has not been recognized by any other nation.
1-0 out of 5 stars a remark
Although I'm ethnic Georgian, I'm not going to engage in a discussion of Abkhaz-Georgian painful relationships. And why? because 1. I may be subjective becaus of my origin and 2. although i'm historic and i've read lots of materials about the issue, i never specialized in it. Our dear author, on the other hand, does not share these principles that are neccesary for every scientist: 1. he is a good linguist but nothing more, so he better stick to lignuistics 2. I hate to say that, but his false enthusiasm to "protect the right of Abkhazians" derives from the fact that he is merried to Abkhazian. Plain and Simple...

4-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Contribution, but Biased
I see that the reviews for this book are polarized - not surprised. Well, this book is biased in favor of the Abkhazians, for additional info about that you can look up its review in the Academic Journal _Slavic Review_. However, I'm neither Georgian nor Abkhazian, and I'm doing research on the Caucasus for my MA in Russian and East European Studies, and this book is invaluable! If you can mentally offset his bias as you read, which is pretty obvious, by the way, then you will find the information in this volume extremely valuable, especially for being in the English language. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Totally Misleading
I read through this book and got amazed how the Indiana University even considered attaching its name to it. Because this is total falsification of the Georgian history and straightforwardly an INSULT to any person who has ever had any positive emotions towards Georgia. Don't waste your time, this book will mislead you.

5-0 out of 5 stars How Georgia Got Where It Is
